As U.S. Chief Integration Officer, Phil is responsible for agency integration at every level‚ to help mcgarrybowen move more nimbly into a new future. His role is part pragmatist, and part futurist‚ helping the agency streamline processes, work better together, and collaborate with Dentsu Aegis Network partners and beyond.
But, the more the industry changes, the more it excites Phil to find new ways of solving clients' brand and business problems‚ through data, technology, content partners, and new talent sets. Phil believes that the real disruption in our industry has only just begun. He joined mcgarrybowen in 2009, entering the Strategy department to help launch the Droid brand. Guiding clients and pitches ever since, he helped win the Verizon Wireless and Burger King businesses and, in turn, built robust strategy and research offerings for each. From there, he went on to take over as New York Chief Strategy Officer, blending the disciplines of digital/social strategy and account planning into one cohesive, integrated team. He also led the expansion of the Marketing Science discipline within the New York office, due to the increasing importance of data in driving brand-building insights.
Phil has over 17 years of industry experience, spending time at agencies such as DDB, Rodgers Townsend, Cramer Krasselt, and Planit, and leading strategic efforts on brands including AT&T, Anheuser Busch, Corona, Crayola, JPMorgan Chase, Chevron, and Under Armour.
Originally hailing from Ireland, Phil is happy to meet you at a barstool in a moment's notice to discuss topics as far ranging as Liverpool's Premier League title chances to the reason why crows may one day rule the world. But his favorite topic is actually talking about his Thai Ridgeback rescue dog‚ Pike.
